Horror on the Orient Express Nouveau
Milan
The PC’s arrive in Milan at 12:20 PM local time at the Stazione Centrale. The station is under renovation and it takes quite some while for anyone to arrive at the platform other than the train passengers. As they exit the station one of the PC’s is arrested for suspicion of being an arms dealer equipping the local socialists with weapons. Name dropping the beautiful opera singer Caterina Cavollaro who befriended the PC’s in Paris while offering them rooms in Milan and front row seats to the premiere of Aida on opening night only makes things worse since she has apparently gone missing. Since the offending PC is a police officer himself from London he eventually is able to straighten out the mess with some clever talking and well placed bribes. He is released later in the day after promising to let them know if he turns up any information about Caterina.
Meanwhile the rest of the PC’s travel to their hotel, the finest in Milan. Rooms are waiting for them thanks to Miss Cavollaro’s generosity. The people of the city seem hollow and gray. Just going through the motions and not much else.
